General description

Variegated or green fern with pinnate fronds. Pinnae are 20-40 cm long, narrow, with the lower ones often forked. Arranged in 2-7 pairs. Yellow-brown stipes 25-75 cm long.

Disturbed sites, clay banks, waste ground, roadsides.

Wind, gravity, water and soil movement.

Found naturalising in Auckland city, mainly in disturbed and modified sites.
